Terms of Business

1. Invoicing and Payments
 

1.1 Payment within 30 days after the invoice date.

1.2 Payment by bank transfer (as instructed by the invoice/invoices) only.

2. Quotations
 

2.1 All quotes are valid for 7 days.

2.2 No work shall be carried out until the quote has been agreed.

2.3 The quote may not reflect the cost of the work carried out due to any unforeseen circumstances (eg. other faults discovered that were not initially described).  Any unforeseen circumstances will be discussed with the customer first. 
 

3. Rates

3.1 Unless agreed otherwise, the hourly rate is £30 per hour for audio repairs.

3.2 If the customer/client wishes to discuss a daily rate (for on site repairs, etc), then Phil Ade Services will be happy to do so (minimum equivalent rate of £30 per hour).

3.3 Audio media, video media and disc transfers (including editing time) are charged from £10 per tape or disc (£12 each for 3 or fewer tape or discs).

3.4 8mm cine film prices will vary depending on reel size and whether sound is required.

3.5 8mm cine film with sound digisation may not be possible if the film is in poor condition.

3.6 USB sticks are available separately at £9 per 32Gb Sandisk USB stick for transferred videos.

3.7 Return postage will be CHARGED and will vary depending on the size and weight of the parcel.

4. Equipment Repairs
 

4.1 If parts are required for equipment repairs, they will be discussed with the customer first.  If the customer agrees, the cost of the parts will be added to the invoice.

4.2 If the equipment is uneconomical to repair, it will be discussed with the customer first.  If agreed, the equipment will be returned to the customer without repair.
 

5. Video Tape, 8mm Cine Film, Audio Media  (Tapes, Minidisc and Vinyl) and Disc Transfers
 

5.1 Phil Ade Services CANNOT accept DAMAGED video tapes (such as tapes containing mould or physically damaged).

5.2 The following video content will NOT be processed:-

      -  Damaged video tapes.

      -  Pornography.

      -  Anything unlawful or illegal.

5.3 The video quality from the original tape(s) / disc(s) will appear within the MP4 files on USB sticks.

5.4 The video quality of Single 8 and Super 8 cine film transfers will be in 1080p HD MP4 files on USB sticks.

5.5 The customer has a choice of sound quality from transferred audio media (MP3 Stereo 320 kbps or 16 bit / 24 bit PCM files such as WAV or FLAC, etc.).

5.6 Phil Ade Services will always try to transfer video from worn out home made DVDs but that may not always be possible. 

5.7 After the videos, cine film, audio tapes / minidiscs / vinyl records have been transferred onto USB stick(s) and the customer is satisfied with the videos and audio files on the USB stick(s) , Phil Ade Services will NOT retain any captured video nor audio to protect privacy.

6. Changes to Terms of Business

6.1 Phil Ade Services reserves the right to change the Terms of Business without notice.  
 

6.2 The Terms of Business does not affect the customer's/client's statutory rights.
